why:
I've been working in Perl for almost 30 years, and the last 25
years with Interchange, a Perl-based ecommerce platform. In the
process of supporting ecommerce clients, I have written a number of
APIs to payment services. Over time, fewer of those payment services
have had CPAN modules available to build around, so more often I
find I'm building core API frameworks that I would normally expect
to find in the Business::Payment or WebService namespaces. I'd like
to start contributing that work back to CPAN to help others, help
Perl continue to be an attractive development option for payment
services, and help my clients to have community supported code
rather than a custom one-off.
