I would like to upload a Perl module distribution that can extract
license information from third-party cpan distributions in the
following fashion: - Given a cpanfile, for each given perl
distribution, attempt to extract the license informaiton of that
perl distribution (Usually found in the LICENSE, COPYING, or README
file). - Given an individual perl distribution name, attempt to
extract the license informaiton of that perl distribution (Usually
found in the LICENSE, COPYING, or README file).
Output of the script: - A license summary file indicating perl
distributions and their license associated with it. - a license
folder (created in the current working directory) that contains the
extracted license text (or direct file) for each perl distribution.
I believe this will be a useful tool for enterprises utilizing perl
that want an automated way to grab licensing information from cpan
distributions.
