Hello again Neil,
It's only been two days, but just wondering if you have gotten a
response from Richard? Seeing he a member of the "Perl Developer" group
on LinkedIn, I have posted a message there looking for him as well.

Thanks again.

I’ve tried to contact Richard via LinkedIn, to see if he’s happy for
you to get co-maint on Date::Business.
Thank you Neil. I've asked the good folks at Perlmonks.org and he's not
there. He is on LinkedIn, unfortunately I cannot contact him directly
without paying for LinkedIn premium (I already tried premium some time
ago, I'm not eligible for a free trial). I tried using the general
contact information for him at the domains he owns too.
We prefer to have explicit permission for someone getting co-maint,
but if we don’t hear back from him, I’ll give you co-maint on his
behalf, given it’s more than 20 years since he released this.
All I really wanted to do is change the Makefile.PL file so it honors
PERL_MM_USE_DEFAULT. The "hard ask" is an issue for GnuCash users using
the GnuCash utility that installs the Finance::Quote module for getting
stock quotes.
Thank you.
