Hi Christian, I’m one of the PAUSE admins. I’m still working on resolving conflicts caused by PAUSE now considering CPAN package names case insensitively. This has left us with some situations where people are owners of namespaces previously considered distinct, and now considered the same.
You have ownership of the “example1” package, because your CGI-XMLApplication distribution has example1.pm in the examples directory. Until recently PAUSE indexed modules in an examples directory, which is how you ended up with this permission. This now conflicts with “Example1”, owned by MHAT (which is a similar example module). PAUSE now doesn’t indexed files in a directory called “examples” (or “example”, or “eg”, or “demo”), as they don’t get installed. As a result I now plan to drop your permissions on “example1, as this will resolve the conflict, and won’t stop your distribution being indexed. I’ll go ahead and do this over the coming weekend, but please shout if you have any questions or concerns. Cheers, Neil
