rationale:
Namespace. Commodore:: is a good general-purpose namespace for
Commodore devices, files, and general utilities. Additional devices
(for example, ::Cassette, ::UserPort, ::JoyPort, ::RS232, ::IEE488,
and so on) fit nicely below the "Commodore" root space.
Approach. My approach is different from Pawel Krohl's D64::
packages, since his require Per Oloffson's C library, whereas mine
is pure Perl. In addition, his only works with 1541 diskette images
("D64" images), while mine handles a large number of diskette
layouts in addition to D64 support (1571, 1581, 2040, 8050, 8250,
and the VICE team's own X64 container format), as well as custom
disk formats.
