why:
I am currently putting the final touches on two modules in the
Alien:: namespace, namely Alien::LibUSBx and Alien::LibUSB::Compat.
These modules are intended to provide an easier install path for
libusb-1.0 and its libusb-0.1 compatibility wrapper (which, with a
patch, will make Device::USB easier to use cross-platform -
hopefully that patch will be accepted by the Device::USB
maintainer).
