rationale:
The proposed distribution is meant to make multidimensional binning
and histogramming in Perl with the Perl Data Language (a.k.a. PDL)
easier. There are a number of histogramming modules available on
CPAN (listed above), but none matches the performance (except PDL
itself) or features of PDL::NDBin. There is a very extensive review
of this and other distributions inside the documentation.
The name PDL::NDBin is derived from 'N-dimensional Binning with
PDL'.
