Hi The author ( and current maintainer ) of XML::Smart does not seem to be active for over 7 years now.
I have tried to contact him/her through his/her CPAN email id ( also in CC of current email ) and through perlmonks at : http://www.perlmonks.org/?node_id=259824 There are multiple new bugs that have not been addressed in any of his/her modules over the last 7 years.
