Hi,

I've come across several modules recently which appear to be unmaintained.
By that I mean modules with bugs which have been open for several years and
for which patches/solutions have been submitted but not applied.

Locale::Gettext, Locale::PO and Mail::Outlook are all in this category.
Furthermore, they all have names which mean that they are going to appear
regularly in searches and may bite the unwary user.

Is one reason for this a lack of manpower? I feel that I've got a vested
interest in ensuring that Perl remains successful and therefore I'm prepared
to help on a voluntary by applying patches or whatever. I can probably
average an hour a week. (I don't think I'll be allowed to do anything from
work or use the work systems.)

I'm not an expert in the guts of Perl, but I've been developing in it
commercially for over ten years now. I can let you have my CV if necessary.

I've attended the last three LPWs and one a few years prior to that, making
four in all. Some of you may know me by sight.

Regards
