Dear Andrew, I applaud your desire to participate on metacpan. However, a PAUSE account is not necessary as there are other options for registering on metacpan. I would encourage you to use those first before resorting to a PAUSE account.
PAUSE is not intended to be a general-purpose third-party authentication service and I am going to advise the metacpan administrators to remove it as a login option.
