The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  modid:       Apache::PAR
  DSLIP:       bdpOp
  description: Use Perl ARchives in mod_perl environment
  userid:      NBYRD (Nathan Byrd)
  chapterid:   15 (World_Wide_Web_HTML_HTTP_CGI)
  communities:
    mod_perl mailing list - [EMAIL PROTECTED]

  similar:

  rationale:

    Apache::PAR is a framework for including Perl ARchive files in a
    mod_perl environment. It allows an author to package up a web
    application, including configuration, static files, Perl modules,
    and Registry and PerlRun scripts to include in a single file. This
    archive can then be moved to other locations on the same system or
    distributed, and loaded with a single set of configuration options
    in the Apache configuration.

    The name Apache::PAR derives from the necessity of using under
    mod_perl (Apache::) and the usage of PAR files (the module uses
    PAR.pm as part of its requirements)

    I did not find any modules on CPAN which performed a similar
    function.

    Posted an RFC on the mod_perl mailing list
    ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), and have not yet received any negative
    responses on the namespace choice (or on other aspects of the
    module.)

  enteredby:   NBYRD (Nathan Byrd)
  enteredon:   Tue Dec  3 02:50:44 2002 GMT

The resulting entry would be:

Apache::
::PAR bdpOp Use Perl ARchives in mod_perl environment NBYRD
