The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  modid:       Geo::Coordinates::UTM
  DSLIP:       bdpOp
  description: Translation between Lat Lon and UTM Coords
  userid:      GRAHAMC (Graham Crookham)
  chapterid:   23 (Miscellaneous_Modules)
  communities:

  similar:
    Geo::Coordinates::Convert

  rationale:

    Geo::Coordinates::UTM

    Translating Latitude/Longitude to Universal Transverse Mercator and
    vice versa using any of 24 different Ellipsoids (Clarke 1866, Airy,
    Aus National, WGS-84, Everest etc..)

    UTM and Lat Lon are by far the most common coordinate systems in
    use worldwide. Module will work for any valid UTM / Lat Lon
    reference.

    2 functions - latlon_to_utm , utm_to_latlon - converting from 1
    system to the other. QED.

    Examples of Use: Translating downloaded GPS coordinates from one
    system to another, remapping survey points based on different
    projections of map.

    Currently no module exists to do this translation.

    Geo::coordinates::Convert is very specific to the French Lambert
    system. UTM is a global standard.
