The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:
modid: Net::LCDproc DSLIP: RdpOb description: Perl interface to LCDproc:LCD display server userid: WAYNE (Wayne Wylupski) chapterid: 5 (Networking_Devices_IPC) communities: similar: rationale: The choice of the 'Net::LCDproc' namespace over something like 'LCD::LCDproc' was not an easy choice. I would be interested to hear the advice of others regarding this decision. LCDproc is a server that drivers an LCD matrix attached via serial or parallel port to a computer. This new module enables 'clients' to communicate to the server and write to the LCD using Perl. There is no similar module that I can see. The problem with deciding the namespace is that in the future someone could write modules that connect with LCD displays directly, without LCDproc, therefore necessitating a new category. I might have to rename the module to LCD::LCDproc then. Again, I would appreciate suggestions or advice. enteredby: WAYNE (Wayne Wylupski) enteredon: Fri Sep 27 13:28:49 2002 GMT The resulting entry would be: Net:: ::LCDproc RdpOb Perl interface to LCDproc:LCD display server WAYNE Thanks for registering, The Pause Team PS: The following links are only valid for module list maintainers: Registration form with editing capabilities: https://pause.perl.org/pause/authenquery?ACTION=add_mod&USERID=e8200000_93c9fd6aaae1dc63&SUBMIT_pause99_add_mod_preview=1 Immediate (one click) registration: https://pause.perl.org/pause/authenquery?ACTION=add_mod&USERID=e8200000_93c9fd6aaae1dc63&SUBMIT_pause99_add_mod_insertit=1
