Session seems to be fairly standard terminology for classes that control access to a messaging or other similar resource. cf. POE::Session, Apache::Session, IPC::Session.
Further modules coming shortly, built on top of this one, to provide a queueing system running over the basic Spread publish/subscribe layer.
