I've just uploaded Pod::Constants. It lets you write:
use Pod::Constants 'my section' => \$my_ref;
=head1 my section
This data will go into $my_ref
=cut
It is based on Pod::Parser. If this is accepted into the Perl 5 modules
list, please make the entry read as follows:
::Constants adpfp Quickly set a constant from a POD section SAMV
