The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  modid:       Socket::Pool
  DSLIP:       adpOp
  description: Module for serving sockets across processes
  userid:      HOWARD (Jeremy Howard)
  chapterid:    5 (Networking_Devices_IPC)
  communities:

  similar:
    Socket::PassAccessRights File::FDpasser

  rationale:

    Socket::Pool combines an efficient Event.pm based server with the
    ability of Socket::PassAccessRights to pass sockets access process
    boundaries to allow users to develop daemons that keep a pool of
    open sockets to be passed to other processes. For instance this is
    currently used in a production environment to keep IMAP connections
    open to be shared across mod_perl processes. It is particularly
    useful for programmers creating mod_perl applications or other
    systems that require multiple processes.

The resulting entry would be:

Socket::
::Pool adpOp Module for serving sockets across processes HOWARD
