The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  modid:       Astro::Cosmology
  DSLIP:       bdcOp
  description: Calculate cosmological distance/volume/times

  rationale:

    This module provides an OO interface to a set of routines to
    calculate distances/volumes/times for commonly used cosmological
    models by the Astronomical community. There has been a previous
    application to use this namespace by Jarle Brinchmann - author id
    JARLE, application at
    http://www.xray.mpe.mpg.de/mailing-lists/modules/2001-03/msg00037.html
    - but he is happy for this module to be used instead
    (http://www.xray.mpe.mpg.de/mailing-lists/perldl/2001-07/msg00087.html)

    Although this module requires the PDL package, it has been
    suggested by other Astronomers who write perl modules (JARLE and
    TJENNESS) that it is better placed in the Astro namespace, rather
    than start a PDL::Astro namespace (discussed in the perld
    mailing-list link above).
