The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  modid:       DBIx::TextIndex
  DSLIP:       bdpOp
  description: Creates fulltext indexes of SQL text columns
  userid:      DKOCH (Daniel Koch)
  chapterid:    7 (Database_Interfaces)
  communities:
    Discussed in private email, have many active users of the module

  similar:
    DBIx::FullTextSearch

  rationale:

    This module has been in use and under development since 1997. It
    predates the DBIx::FullTextSearch module, which takes a different
    approach.

    Some cool features include a traditional information retrieval
    relevancy scoring algorithm, searching over multiple text columns,
    boolean operations, word proximity indexing, stoplists, Czech and
    English language support, and support for multiple database backends
    (only MySQL is currently available).

    The indexes scale very well; the module is currently used on a 1.5
    GB collection of text documents with very good performance.

The resulting entry would be:

DBIx::
::TextIndex bdpOp Creates fulltext indexes of SQL text columns DKOCH
