Nice guess. I gave it a try to replace with
http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd and as a
result, IE now displays the source of the page instead of the rendered
page. It's still better than the error message so I'll apply the
change until somebody comes with a better suggestion.
