The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  modid:       Net::DNSServer
  DSLIP:       cnpOa
  description: Secure and Extensible Name Server
  userid:      BBB (Rob Brown)
  chapterid:   16 (Server_and_Daemon_Utilities)
  communities:
    http://www.isc.org/ml-archives/bind9-users/2000/07/msg00005.html

  similar:
    Net::Server Net::DNS DBI IO::Socket IPC::ShareLite IPC::SharedCache

  rationale:

    Net::Server - Backend socket work for the daemon. Net::DNS - Packet
    parsing and unparsing. IO::Socket - Standard UDP / TCP Socket
    Handling - Proxy DNS Module DBI - DBD::mysql - Example backend
    database resolver module IPC::ShareLite / IPC::ShardCache - Used to
    implement the DNS Cache - TTLs (rfc2181) - Shared Memory

    It goes under Net:: because it is based on things very similar to
    Net::Server and Net::FTPServer. It's a daemon.

    It is Object Oriented in that different modules perform different
    tasks and operations to resolve the DNS query. It is based on the
    concept that Apache uses for its internal modules as well as easily
    integrating third party modules. Also, like Apache, it can supports
    a PreFork server algorithm to speed the response time to the client.

The resulting entry would be:

Net::
::DNSServer cnpOa Secure and Extensible Name Server BBB
