It seems none of the other Font::* modules have anything for working with PANOSE numbers. Assuming I don't find anything, I would like to propose a module called "Font::PANOSE" for validating and matching PANOSE font numbers. See http://www.w3.org/Printing/stevahn.html for an introduction.
