a description of what I'm planning to contribute:

   Name DSLI Description Info
   ------------- ---- -------------------------------------------- -----
   Spectrum::
::CLI RdpO perl API for Spectrum Enterprise Mgr. CLI PLONKA

This module is probably most properly considered a "Database Interface".
Currently the module is available at:

   http://net.doit.wisc.edu/~plonka/Spectrum-CLI/

I plan to subsequently submit other primarily network-management
related perl modules such as those linked from
"http://net.doit.wisc.edu/~plonka/packages.html". My current priority,
though, is to get the aforementioned "Spectrum::CLI" module on CPAN to
ease installation for users of the high-end Network Management system
Aprisma's (formerly part of Cabletron) Spectrum Enterprise Manager.

As for the namespace, "Spectrum" would be ideal as that is the name of
the requisite commercial application. "Spectrum" is a registered
trademark of Cabletron, and the full software product name is "Spectrum
Enterprise Manager". If this name is somehow problematic, I would
consider using "Spectro" (which is a commonly used prefix for
components of that product.) Cabletron has another network management
software product called "Spectrum Element Manager" or "SPEL", for which
my module is not compatible, AFAIK.

This module is discussed in the Spectrum User's and Spectrum Modeling
majordomo mailing lists: "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]", respectively. The lists currently
have about 1300 Spectrum users/subscribers. I am active in these
lists, I am the SpectroFAQ maintainer, and run a web site for Spectrum
User's: "http://SpectroSITE.doit.wisc.edu".

Thanks,
Dave
