So Google are now giving enhanced appearance in search results listings to people who are prepared to sign up to a Google+ account? That doesn't sound very different from Google giving prominence in search results to people who pay them for that privilege. (Not criticizing your article at all, Gabor — given that Google are doing this, it makes sense for Cpan authors who are on Google+ to link their accounts as you describe.)
