Hello all; first post EVER, so forgive me if I've already violated some SOPs here. I made a tl;dr style post on this same topic at https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/comp.lang.perl.modules/QuRnHaA7HTI as well.
Question is; before I reinvent the wheel, doth anyone know of already existing cpan modules that take in, simplify (think map like images), and save out images? Further, this is an algorithm that supports a second script that attempts (mostly successfully thus far) to detect blobs of unique color and produce from them lists of point to point lines or vectors from which the originating image can be a guide... html image maps being a potential use case. If this hasn't been done, what should I inquire into re: namespacing? Thanks! -- ~jet
