I'm responding in general to this thread, not to any specific message in it.

I created Module::Build simply because I thought there was a niche
that needed filling. We needed a tool that would "make should-be-easy
things easy and make hard things possible" for the build & install
process. It was clear EU::MM was never going to fill that niche.

Creating something to fill this niche DOES NOT MEAN that I wanted the
occupier of the existing niche to die. To the contrary, there are
several major improvements to EU::MM that come directly from the M::B
project, most importantly META.yml and INSTALL_BASE.

If you want to keep using EU::MM then just keep using it. Nobody,
least of all me, can reasonably criticize you for that unless it
causes someone else actual pain. Just like nobody's going to fault
you if you edit your source code with Notepad. At some level it's
just a question of taste and I'll be damned if I get in that argument.
