I'm using apache 1.3.33 and mod_perl 1.29.
I would have went apache 2 and mp 2 but I saw the mod_perl in beta
warning and wasn't sure if it was a good idea to use it in a production
environment.
Even if I had wanted to our host uses apache 1.3.33 and mod_perl 1.29 as
the default set up. On my OS X box (10.3.9) apache 1.3.33 mp 1.29 are
both installed by default too. I tried to get apache 1.3.33 and mp 2
installed
a few months ago, even posted some help needed emails here while doing
it. I couldn't get it to compile for the life of me.
So I would love to be in apache 2 / mp 2 land, but it seemed like I
couldn't (or
shouldn't.)
If I had such a hard time and I don't mind the "extra" work it would
take to get
it to happen, maybe a lot of others are in the same boat?
Also, I use a two tiered system (proxy=>static/mp) so I think the
headers
hide my mod_perl usage, but I haven't tested to make sure...
Thanks,
