Please don't mix ModemManager with modem-manager-gui, they're two completely different projects. As Bjørn suggested in the previous email, you'll need libqmi and ModemManager git main branches. I plan to add that latest mechanism also in the next 1.18 stable update, but I didn't find time to do that yet.
