Hi folks, I just requested autoland for Bug 1411654 [1], which upgrades the Android-Gradle plugin to version 3.0. For most people, this should be transparent -- your next |mach build| will download lots of new Gradle dependencies. However, if you develop Fennec in Android Studio, you may need to change your target configuration. Under the covers, this is a significant reworking of the Gradle project layout that takes advantage of many improvements in the Android-Gradle integration. The most immediate improvement helps with publishing GeckoView AARs [2] and Javadoc [3], but there are additional features that we might want to use in future.
