Hello,

I've been using mpeg2enc to make video cds for a couple years now, with
great success. I just got a DVD recorder last week, and decided to try my
hand at authoring a DVD. Unfortunately, my first DVD seems to have some
sort of video interlace problem.

My problem is this: when played on a TV (and just on a TV... on a computer, the
video looks beautiful), the video seems to have what might be described in the
MJPEG HOWTO as "juddering", but having never seen this before, I'm not
sure which of the possible fixes to try.

This is an NTSC dvd, at 29.97 fps, and I've noticed that the "juddering" shows
up even on perfectly still scenes of the video. On my computer, I've tried
the remedies for problems #2 and #3 in the HOWTO, but they make the computer
video look worse not better (and I didn't want to burn another DVD unless
I'm reasonably sure I've fixed the problem).

Are there any other ways to know for sure what the cause of the problem is?

mdr
