mplayer is right about the DAR.  If you do the math, (720*10)/(480*11) =
1.3636.  If you used the resolution 704x480 then it would be exactly 4:3, as
(704*10)/(480*11) = 1.3333.  The Rec 601 resolution of 720x480 is slightly
wider than 4:3, as 720 pixels are more than enough to get the entire image and
provide some padding beyond that.
