An audiotrack is NOT required. Most of the time the files I create
are without audio since I've got that as a separate .aiff file or
whatever and don't need to duplicate it in the Quicktime file.

Well, ok - if qtinfo can't open the file successfully there's no
        point in proceeding further.

Presumably you're using a recent libquicktime? There was a 0.98
release a couple months ago - have you installed that (or the
        cvs version)?

Hmmm, if the input files really are 10bit 4:2:2 files then you've
got a Big Problem because the '-X' option to qttoy4m is for "upscaling"
8bit to 10bit, it doesn't enable reading 'raw' (headerless) 10bit
        files.

The last time we corresponded about this the files were 'uvuy' which
is an 8bit format. You sent me a couple sample frames and they
were 8 bit 4:2:2 (with the uvuy packing I seem to recall).

Hmmm, the libquicktime maintainer would be very interested in
hearing about that (he's also the gmerlin author).

At this point I guess what's needed is a little more info about
what your workflow/proceedure/script(s) look like. This was working
at one time I thought - anything change on your system recently?

If you like you can send a sample frame or two and I'll give it a try.

        Cheers,
        Steven Schultz
