Ok, I'm a newbie and not well documented about the edit list file format, only
what I've read in a old message (2002-06-07) from the mjpeg-user list, by
Ronald Bultje:

" * The format of an edit list file is as follows:
 * line 1: "LAV Edit List"
 * line 2: "PAL" or "NTSC"
 * line 3: Number of AVI/Quicktime files comprising the edit sequence
 * next lines: Filenames of AVI/Quicktime files
 * and then for every sequence
 *    a line consisting of 3 numbers: file-number start-frame end-frame"

That's all. If you can tell me of other documentation about, it's welcome!

My goal is to create a little film (and then perharps a DVD) on the fly with
many small AVI clips, sorted, merged and mixed with audio from a script,
without big cut and paste work... and accomplish all it - fool?!, lazy?! -
with poor - "pure and poor" - tools, "with a commandline" and no expensive
hardware...

Thanks,

enrico
