I found a sort of work around for the failure of mpeg2enc in my args to find a yuv4mpeg header by using mencvcd in Mplayer. I noticed that mencvcd had no problem with any of these headers so I looked in the code and did this hack to make it encode to dvd specs. I am not sure what mencvcd does to correct the header that I had not tried. Magic? Just in case you are interested and bothered to explain it to me I am attaching my mencdvd shell script. Raena
