You can use both, but MPEG-2 it's better since you can use DVD bitrate
(up to 9800Kbits/s for video stream). MPEG-1 is only useful if you want
to put old VCDs into a DVD without reencoding video.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] is a valid DVD MPEG-2 PAL resolution.

For DVD, you have to mplex like for MPEG-2 video streams (mplex -f 8).
So, VOB is a valid container for MPEG-1 video stream.
