Hello there! I just bought a DC10 card, since I read on the internet it's compatible with Linux. I tried to make it work on my Debian SID system, with the (home compiled) 2.6.11 kernel.
I followed the instructions given on the Unified Zoran Driver page: http://mjpeg.sourceforge.net/driver-zoran However, each time I modprobe zr36067, I get a segmentation fault. The module is loaded and appears in /proc/modules. However, I can't get any image from xawtv. That does not seem to work. Here is some information about my system: - memory: DDR 3200 Samsung brand - mainboard: Asus A7V8X-X - MJPEG card: DC10(new) - kernel version: 2.6.11: Linux reno 2.6.11 #2 Sun Mar 6 16:47:24 CET 2005 i686 GNU/Linux - gcc: version gcc 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-9) I hope you'll be able to help me, I really need the driver to work, in order to edit some videos. Have a nice day! Nicolas, Paris. ================================= ************ devices: *************** Character devices: 1 mem 2 pty 3 ttyp 4 /dev/vc/0 4 tty 4 ttyS 5 /dev/tty 5 /dev/console 5 /dev/ptmx 7 vcs 10 misc 13 input 14 sound 21 sg 29 fb 81 video4linux 116 alsa 128 ptm 136 pts 180 usb 195 nvidia 254 devfs Block devices: 1 ramdisk 2 fd 3 ide0 8 sd 11 sr 22 ide1 65 sd 66 sd 67 sd 68 sd 69 sd 70 sd 71 sd 128 sd 129 sd 130 sd 131 sd 132 sd 133 sd 134 sd 135 sd ************ dmesg : *************** ch found with the PnP device '00:0a' and the driver 'system' pnp: 00:0a: ioport range 0x290-0x297 has been reserved pnp: 00:0a: ioport range 0x370-0x375 has been reserved Simple Boot Flag at 0x3a set to 0x1 VFS: Disk quotas dquot_6.5.1 Dquot-cache hash table entries: 1024 (order 0, 4096 bytes) devfs: 2004-01-31 Richard Gooch ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) devfs: boot_options: 0x0 Initializing Cryptographic API ACPI: PS/2 Keyboard Controller [PS2K] at I/O 0x60, 0x64, irq 1 ACPI: PS/2 Mouse Controller [PS2M] at irq 12 serio: i8042 AUX port at 0x60,0x64 irq 12 serio: i8042 KBD port at 0x60,0x64 irq 1 io scheduler noop registered io scheduler anticipatory registered io scheduler deadline registered io scheduler cfq registered RAMDISK driver initialized: 16 RAM disks of 4096K size 1024 blocksize mice: PS/2 mouse device common for all mice input: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard on isa0060/serio0 input: ImExPS/2 Generic Explorer Mouse on isa0060/serio1 EISA: Probing bus 0 at eisa0 NET: Registered protocol family 2 IP: routing cache hash table of 4096 buckets, 32Kbytes TCP established hash table entries: 32768 (order: 6, 262144 bytes) TCP bind hash table entries: 32768 (order: 5, 131072 bytes) TCP: Hash tables configured (established 32768 bind 32768) NET: Registered protocol family 8 NET: Registered protocol family 20 ACPI wakeup devices: PCI0 PCI1 USB0 USB1 USB2 SU20 SLAN ACPI: (supports S0 S1 S4 S5) RAMDISK: cramfs filesystem found at block 0 RAMDISK: Loading 3724KiB [1 disk] into ram disk... |/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|/-\|done.
