I sometimes had the problem, that mplex wanted to split its output and asked for %d in the filename, when I wanted it to make just one file. It seems that there are end-of-sequence marks in the m2v-file.
With the help of google I found out, that the option -M in mplex (from cvs) seems to be what I am looking for: >--ignore-seqend-markers|-M > Don't switch to a new output file if a sequence end marker > is encountered ithe input video. (from usage). However, I then found out, that the -M option is also present in older versions of mplex, but with a different explanation: >--split-segment|-M > Simply split a sequence across files rather than building run-out/run-in and from the manpage >-M|--split-segment > When splitting a long stream in files based on -S mplex does a certain > amount of careful "running out" to prevent a GOP or audio frame being > split. If the files are simply going to be concatenated for playback > this "run out" is superfluous and makes it harder for the player to > maintain audio/video sync. This flag allows the run-out to be turned > off. The DVD profile turns this option on automatically. So my question is: Are these options really the same? Do they produce multiple output files if a end-of-sequence mark is found? And if so, is there any other way to prevent this behaviour?
