We're having trouble using Linux DV and Kino with boxes like this:

http://www.datavideo-tek.com/products/dac_100_main_page.htm

The system is an x86_64 system, running Kino 0.7.4 on Fedora Core 2.
I am capturing into an ffmpeg pipe, so CPU load is pretty high. It
will work for a while and then lock up. The dv1394 module can not be
removed, even though lsmod shows a usage count of 0. The computer and
the DAC-100 must both be rebooted to work properly. Some error
messages are logged. I can furnish those later; I'm not with the
machine right now.

We also have a few Canopus ADVC300s, which work flawlessly.

Is anyone here familiar with the DataVideo product? Maybe we'll just
return them to the dealer and get the Canopus boxes instead, although
they are considerably more expensive.

Regards,
Mark
