Hmm, good, but not good enough.
Maybe I'm just too stupid, but I didn't fully understand how it works.
For example I use the following:
jpeg2yuv -j v.jpg -f 25 -I p -n 1 | y4mtoppm > picture.ppm
ppmtoy4m -Ip -F25:1 picture.ppm | y4mscaler -O sar=pal -O bg=rgb:0,0,0
-O size=704x576 | y4mtoppm > out.ppm

v.jpg is 1200x1600.
Then I not only get black bars at the sides but also at the top and the
bottom that is 22 pixels thick. I don't know where they are from.
I tried around a lot with options but never got what I wanted.

How do I do it right?

PS: Is there a debian package for y4mscaler yet?
