Be aware that the "top-field-first" flag is on the picture, not the sequence,
 and can change from picture to picture if "repeat-first-field" is ever true.
 A sequence is pretty much guaranteed to be a succession of "top-bottom" or
 "bottom-top", after these flags are taken into account, but I don't know
 if this holds over sequence boundaries.  (I'm pretty sure I've heard of
 cases where streams from satellite DSS broadcasts occasionally violate
 such rules --- which technically cause glitches, but I guess the viewer
 copes.)
