By default mpeg2enc does a interlace-adapted  motion  compensation
beween the fields.
But it can also encode the interlaced material field by field. Take a
look at the -I --interlace-mode option description. That should be what
you seek.

And you should not filter it because it also does motion estimation.

That card should work well with the lastests zoran-driver2 cvs version.
With Compsite input, SVHS is currently ony B/W, the chroma is lost
somwhere on the board.
