Hi All.
I have DC10plus capture card. I have a idea to make copy all of my VHS's to DVD directly from Linux using eg automated comand line script because Win (brrr) to many programs to use and wasn't possible make automated script. Since some time I'll tryed make this and yesterday I had made my first 5 min DVD. This was for me a big success, because seems very hard to make it. I'll describe all of steps and my PC architecture and invite all ineterested people to discussion about making copy of own VHS's because during make full copy was not possible.
I have installed RH 9B with all options on
Athlon 1800 XP, 512 DDR Ram, two HD (40+80), CMedia integrated SoundCard on K7V266 MotherBoard by Asus (Via chipset)
Installation steps:
- Install 3 CD of RH9
- Download kernel 2.4.23
- Compile Kernel with all Video & Media Modules + CMedia Sound As Module + SCSI support and UDF e CDROM filesystems
- Download Driver Zoran (0.9.4)
- Compile Drivers (Without "make install". I made my own dir with all *.o compiled modules and added all insmod instructions to rc.local)
- Download all MJPEGTOOLS and relative libraries (eg. avifile, SDL, libquicktime, DivX, Xvid eccc)
- Compile all TOOLS
- Download DVDRTOOLS/DVDAUTHOR and relative libraries (libxml2 ecc)
- Compile DVDRTOOLS
- Add to modules.conf instructions to recognize and corect link to my DVD lecteur. (Pioneer DR104 - firmware I upgraded with Pioneer download)
- Reboot with new kernel
I modified one of scripts included in mjpegtools package and tryed to make 5 min registration and burn my DVD with success (quality not perfect but enought) !
I was happy than immediately tryed to make full copy of my VHS, but unfortunately wasn't possibile. Many, many errors (this night)...
I want ask if someone have made the same idea with DC10 plus and making his VHS copy on DVD.
Sorry for my bad english...
