Yes, I get that flash of green also when using yuvplay. Somehow a
frame or two of zero data is being converted (the bright green means
all 0s were decoded). Doesn't hurt anything - the green does not
appear in the output of mpeg2enc.

Does adding "-p s" to the lavplay command help?

This problem sounds very familiar. Does a search of the mailing
list archive mention if the problem was successfully resolved the
last time someone asked about the "screen of green"?
