Very useful information.  That suggests the LPCM headers must be padded to the 
minimum (or even fixed) length as forced by -W mplayer_hdr.   A very similar 
(disgusting) syntax mess is present in VCD where audio sectors have 24 unused 
bytes at the end.  Ugh... these so called 'industry standards'....

I'll make -W mplayer_hdr the default and remove the option...
