Michael Hanke írta:
Hallo,
I have a question about synchronization issues while capturing. I own a
bt878-based capture card and a emu10k-based sound card. When recording a
video using lavrec, the program does its best to keep audio and video in
sync. Since my VCR seems to be a little bit too slow, I get relatively many
inserted frames (no dropped or lost frames). Sometimes, one can see this.
My question is as follows: The granularity of the video is one frame (that is,
40 ms in PAL) while the audio granularity is one sample (22.5 microseconds).
Wouldn't it be a better idea to adjust the audio stream to the video stream,
probably in a control loop (with a time constant in the order of magnitude
comparable to a second)?
Thanks,
Michael
I use nvrec (http://nvrec.sourceforge.net/), as it does this - quite
well for my purposes. It resamples audio on-the-fly. I haven't looked
yet into what method it uses, but it works pretty well for me when
recording programmes from broadcast: I haven't heard any audio
distortions in recordings made with it yet - granted the broadcast audio
wasn't of particularly high quality to begin with, compared e.g. to a DVD.
Best Regards,
Andras
