As some may recall, a while ago I posted some strange problems using the
0.9.4 drivers with lml33-cards; I'd be able to record, all output from
everywhere (including dmesg) looked fine, but I would not actually get a
picture grabbed.

Now, I have switched the machine (due to an unrelated problem involving
a temporary blackout and a lack of surge suppressors), and decided to
try again. Thus:

* Different machine with different CPU family and motherboard (P4 and
Intel board).

* Kernel 2.4.22 rather than 2.4.21.

* mjpegtools 1.6.1.90 (rather than whatever came with redhat 9).

The result? recording works just fine, but the end result is a nice,
solid blue nothing recorded. Again, dmesg (and lavrec) agree that it is
syncing and capturing frames; no error messages anywhere. Also, using an
older driver (0.0.3 or so), recording, both compressed and uncompressed,
works (with some other problems, naturally).

Pretty much the only thing that is the same from the last time I tried
this is the driver version. It is strange enough that I don't really
expect an answer to it - as I understand, nobody else has this issue,
which makes it sort of hard for anybody else to help figure it out.
Thought I'd throw it out on the list anyhow, in case somebody else has
the same problem later on.
