My MPX board only has a 10/100 3Com 905C Ethernet Adapter. And I use the
64Bit version of the Adaptec SCIS Controller. I have not noticed any
problems because of that (or at least I think so)

The 10/100 controller is slaved to the 32bit/33Mhz bus. So, you only have one thing on the 64/66, which, yo my knowledge, always works. Just be aware that if you try to add something else, it may or may not work.

See here:

5. Why is my system unstable when I add two 64bit 66MHz cards to PCI slots 1 and 2?

This is due to the tight PCI 66MHz timing of the AMD-760 MPX chipset. It may be necessary to set the bus to 33MHz when using multiple 64bit 66MHz PCI cards. For more information, refer to the AMD 760¥ System Controller Datasheet (PID# 24416) on the AMD website: www.amd.com

(This is for the Thunder K7XPro FAQ, but it is the same chipset, so it should hold true for the Tiger too.)

It also works without problems when I use a other card like the ess1371
(SB-128). It seems that the whole mmap part does not work with that
chipset.

I've not been impressed with the newer SBLive cards. I loved my AWE32, back in the day, but this current crop just isn't worth the high prices.

There is something very wrong. But that ist when you record from the BUZ
?

Yes, it is while recording.

Has the Buz it's own interrupt ? That might als help a little. But I
guess that you have a different problem.

Yes, it does. That was my first thought, so I spent some timne shuffling cards around.

Info:
Redhat 9.0
Kernel 2.4.21, stock from kernel.org + FreeS/Wan patches + kraxel v4l2
    patch bundle (patch-2.4.21-rc4-kraxel)
I use a Suse and also a 2.4.21 Kernel. Do you have enables the zoran
support as module when you have compiled the kernel ?

No, I enabled v4l support and I2C support, downloaded the Zoran drivers and installed them. I shouldn't have to enable them in the kernel and then overwrite the ones that are there.

current CVS of driver-zoran just fails to load. Unresolved symbols.
Thats weird.

I had the wrong branch. Ronald told me the right onw.

I'll try to plug in my old bttv card and see what happens.

Be careful! Like I said, it hard locked my machine! -- Writing a network stack from scratch is quite fun. ~~ Matt Caron ~~
