Hello,
I'm trying to convert an old Sorenson video clip to Mpeg for putting
on DVD. However, while I can play the clip with recent versions
of xine and mplayer, I can't figure out how to reencode it such
that I can use mpeg2enc and/or mplex to create an mpeg file suitable
for DVD.
I've mainly been spending my time with ffmpeg, but I can't figure
out how to get it to write an mpeg-2 video stream, and the mp2 audio
stream it produces has serious problems -- either it cuts out every
second or so, or it ends halfway through the clip.
I even tried using ffmpeg to produce just the audio and then just
the video and using mplex to multiplex them into an mpeg-2 stream,
but no luck there either.
After failing with ffmpeg, I tried mencoder, but it has less options
for the resultant codec, and the one AVI file I created had audio
that went out of sync with the video, and then just ended in the
middle, and the AVI file wasn't even the type of file I needed
anyway (video was Divx and audio was pcm).
So I'm looking for suggestions. I tried so many different ffmpeg
commands that for now I won't bother giving the details.
