I read (in the MJpeg docs) that the avi file size limit is 2G. But I've also read (in mplayer docs) that it's 4G. What is the maximum file size for an avi file? Is this a limit of MJpeg or of avilib? Also, when I try to record in movtar format, lavrec keeps recording (well, the numbers keep counting up on the console), but the file size stops increasing at 2G. My kernel is 2.4.20, and I'm using ext3 (ext2 + journal) filesystem, so I think I should be able to handle >2G files on the filesystem. Any suggestions how I could record this? I've used ...%02d.ext as the filename, of course; now I'm trying: lavrec...--max-file-size 1900M ...%02d.avi But when I try to turn this into a VCD I've got a concern: I'm not sure how i'm going to merge this into one file prior to converting if I can't use avi files longer than 2G.
