Hello, I searched the mailing list archives, but kept coming up with nothing to match the above error.
Mandrake 9.0 MJPEG Tools 1.6.0 Zoran Driver 8.0 Iomega Buz card I am attempting to transfer a video a firend of mine made on his camcorder (no, not one of *those* videos!) onto my hard drive, so he can then make it available online. The Zoran driver compiled fine (no errors), and the MJPEG Tools are installed from the "Penguin Liberation Front". However, when I try to do the recording like this: lavrec -m -fa -in -d2 -q100 -n256 /media/Video/recorded/chad_teepro. I get the following error: --- ERROR --- **ERROR: [lavrec] Error opening video-device (/dev/video0): No such file or directory ++ WARN: [lavrec] Not ready for capture (state = 0)! Press enter to start recording>Recording time : 0.00.00:00 Lost frames : 000 A/V sync ins/del: 000/000 Audio errors : 000 --- ERROR --- I did make sure to run the 'update' script with the 'buz' argument (i.e., 'update buz'), so the 'videodev' module is loaded. Just to be sure, I did a 'update buz' then a 'lsmod' : --- loaded modules --- zoran 83568 0 (unused) saa7185 1784 0 (unused) saa7111 2296 0 (unused) i2c-old 3968 2 [zoran saa7185 saa7111] videodev 5792 0 [zoran] --- loaded bodules --- And there are absolutely no '/dev/video' devices of any kind. I had thought that previously when I rand the 'update buz', it automatically created a '/dev/video' device? I did try following the README, and created the /dev/video0 device, like this (because I am using devfsd, I had to modify things a little): mknod /dev/v4l/video0 c 81 0 ln -sf /dev/v4l/video0 /dev/video0 ln -sf /dev/v4l/video However, I still get the same error (even after trying to do an 'update buz' again, just to make sure). SO, I am very stuck, and any insight you could provide into this would, as always, be appreciated :-) Thank you, in advance.
