Ah, cool. That one's not in my man page, but I'm sure it's been added since my 
last download of it.

-T doesn't seem to work well in combination with -f j; I tried to do a 
"capture one second, but just every 25th frame" trick, but I got 25 files 
anyway. With my 1.6.0 lavrec, that is.

Combined with -S, this could make a nice "image server", though.
